The numerous community activities lead by the Rochester Alumnae Chapter were acknowledged in an article written by the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. The article also interviewed one of the past Maude Orman Scholarship winners who has since matriculated in a 4 year college.
In honor of the 100th Anniversary of the founding of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a public service organization, the Rochester Alumnae Chapter will host a Centennial Anniversary Gala on January 5, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency Rochester.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s national initiative for IMPACT Day 2013 is raising awareness for childhood obesity. This year, the Rochester Alumnae Chapter, will host “Up and At It,” an event in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Rochester.
Representatives from local churches and social agencies along with Mayor Tom Richards witnessed the unveiling of “Quilting Expressions” at Rochester City Hall on Friday.
The Rochester Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is working with local agencies, churches and community organizations to raise awareness about domestic violence. The event Saturday was called “Quilting Expression” and it’s a part of Delta Impact Day. It was held at the Rochester City Hall Atrium.
