Community Service Endeavors

13 Vienna Street/Baden Street Settlement Food Stand

In partnership with the 14621 Free Food Stands and ROC Foods Not Bombs, the Rochester Alumnae Chapter is working to help combat food insecurity in the Greater Rochester Community by adopting a local free food stand in the Clinton/Joseph Ave. area. The chapter maintains the stand and highly encourages the community to take from and donate to the stand.

Roc Your Crown

In 2021, the Rochester Alumnae Chapter provided 50 personal hair care toiletry kits for women of color utilizing emergency transitional housing services.  No matter our circumstance, we feel better when we look our best.

YWCA Shoebox Drive

Providing support for women who need a safe and secure home from which to build their strength and continue their progress is an essential service.  The Rochester Alumnae Chapter has donated personal toiletry items to the women of the YWCA of Rochester & Monroe County over the last several years.

P.A.D. Project

The P.A.D. Project (Providing Access and Dignity) services low-income and homeless women who can't always afford the products they need during their menstrual cycle. The Rochester Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will create and donate kits to organizations that assist women. The women who receive the kits can keep their dignity intact by not having to ask for these necessities or do without.
