After several years, the Rochester Alumnae Chapter “brought back” an annual event, “Summer Breeze.” The year 2011 sparked the rejuvenation of a signature Greater Rochester community event.

On September 20, 2020, the Rochester Alumnae Chapter participated in the National Susan B. Anthony Museum & House’s City Suffragists Parade Virtual March.

For the past four years, the chapter has marched in the parade to commentate Delta Sigma Theta’s first act of service, walking in the 1913  Woman Suffrage Procession. Delta Sigma Theta was the only Black organization to participate in the procession.

On March 21, the Social Action Committee of the Rochester Alumnae Chapter held a talk with five of Rochester’s most prominent women who head government or community organizations speak about their priorities for improving the city and addressing racial inequalities.

  • Cynthia Herriott-Sullivan – Interim Chief of Police, City of Rochester
  • Dr. Janice Harbin – President & CEO, Jordan Health Center
  • Dr. Lesli Myers-Small, Superintendent, Rochester City School District
  • Dr. Seanelle Hawkins – President & CEO, Urban League of Rochester, NY, Inc.

As part of May Week 2020, the Rochester Alumnae Chapter, family, and friends participated in a virtual cooking demonstration with James Beard award-winning Chef Luchmann Pierre.
